Dynamic Tiers. Teams are split into equal tiers based on FIFA rank. Each player spins once per tier. Tiers and wheels update automatically when you change the player count. Draft order per tier is randomised via cryptographic RNG; the wheel animation lands on the pre-selected winner.

FIFA selects the 8 best 3rd-place teams from 12 groups. Use the dropdowns below to manually set which team fills each 3rd-place slot in the bracket. You can also override any 1st/2nd place slot if needed (e.g. a tie-breaking decision). Leave as "Auto" to use the calculated standings.
๐ŸŒŸ Best Sleeper Team
Tier B & C teams only ยท overperformance = actual pts minus expected pts
Formula: Expected pts are based on FIFA rank โ€” higher-ranked teams are expected to earn more points. Overperformance = Actual PTS โˆ’ Expected PTS. A Tier C team beating expectations scores highest. The Cinderella Score also rewards goals scored and penalises goals conceded relative to rank.

How World Cup Draft Works
A World Cup pool reimagined. Pick teams across FIFA-ranked tiers, follow every match, and see who drafted the tournament's best โ€” and most surprising โ€” teams.
01
The Draft
All 48 World Cup teams are divided into equal tiers based on their official FIFA world ranking โ€” not betting odds or public perception. Tier A is the tournament favourites (ranks 1โ€“16), Tier B the contenders, and so on down to the underdogs.

Each player spins a wheel once per tier and receives one randomly assigned team. The wheel uses cryptographic randomness โ€” the same standard used in bank-level encryption โ€” so every pick is genuinely fair. The wheel result is determined before the spin animation even starts; it simply lands where the math already decided.

With 16 players you each get 3 teams โ€” one from each tier. With 24 players it's 2 teams each. The format scales to any group size.
02
The Leaderboard
Points follow standard football scoring โ€” the same system used in every World Cup group stage since 1994:
3
Points for a Win
1
Point for a Draw
0
Points for a Loss
Points accumulate across all your teams, all the way through to the Final. A team that goes deep in the knockouts scores more points for its owner. The leaderboard updates the moment a score is logged โ€” which means standings can flip completely on a single result.

Tiebreakers go: total points โ†’ goal difference โ†’ goals scored. Same rules FIFA uses.
03
The Tier System
Teams are ranked by their official FIFA world ranking โ€” the authoritative global measure of national team performance. This is deliberately different from betting odds or media expectations.

FIFA rankings are calculated from competitive match results weighted by opponent strength and match importance. A team ranked 40th has earned that position through years of qualifying matches and tournaments โ€” they're a genuine football nation, not a minnow.

Why does this matter? Because it creates fair tiers. Every player is guaranteed one strong team, one mid-tier team, and one underdog. No one gets three favourites. No one gets three hopeless cases. Everyone has a real chance โ€” but lower-tier teams winning matches is genuinely surprising, which is what makes the Sleeper Tracker interesting.
04
The Cinderella / Sleeper Tracker
The leaderboard rewards having good teams. The Sleeper Tracker rewards having surprising teams โ€” specifically, lower-tier teams that outperform what their FIFA ranking would predict.

The formula:
Cinderella Score = (Overperformance ร— Tier Bonus) + (Goals Scored ร— 0.2) โˆ’ (Goals Conceded ร— 0.1)
Overperformance = Actual Points โˆ’ Expected Points
Expected Points โ‰ˆ 1.8 pts/game at top of Tier B, sliding to 0.5 pts/game at bottom of Tier C
Tier Bonus: Tier B = ร—1.15 ยท Tier C = ร—1.30 ยท lower tiers more
A Tier C team winning two group games when they were expected to lose all three scores massively. A Tier B team doing exactly what their ranking predicts scores near zero. Negative scores mean underperforming.

This is purely based on FIFA rankings, not betting odds. If a team ranked 60th beats a team ranked 8th, the Cinderella tracker treats it as the upset it is โ€” regardless of what the bookmakers said.

Only Tier B and below are tracked. Tier A teams are the favourites โ€” outperforming expectations isn't a Cinderella story, it's just Tuesday.

Live Scores & Results
One designated admin logs match results as the tournament progresses. Every score update flows instantly to every device โ€” leaderboard, group standings, knockout bracket, and Sleeper tracker all update in real time.

You don't need to refresh or do anything. Just open your group's link and everything is current. Group stage results via the Scores tab, knockout results via the Calendar or Bracket.

The bracket auto-resolves as results come in โ€” 1st and 2nd place qualifiers are calculated from the live group standings the moment all six group matches are logged. You can also manually confirm third-place qualifiers in the Bracket tab (FIFA picks the 8 best third-placed teams by points, goal difference, and goals scored).
๐ŸŽฎ Demo Mode
Simulate scores safely โ€” demo data is completely isolated from real scores
๐Ÿ”’ Demo is fully isolated. Simulated scores save to a separate demo row in the database and never affect your real leaderboard, standings, or bracket. Your group's actual scores are completely untouched. Use this freely to show people how the app works without any risk.

Real-time scores: When the tournament starts (June 11, 2026), scores are logged manually via the Calendar tab. A future upgrade can automate this via API.
๐Ÿ—“ Group Stage
Simulate all 72 group stage matches with random scores. Group standings, leaderboard and sleeper tracker update immediately.
โš”๏ธ Knockout Rounds
Simulate the full knockout bracket (R32 โ†’ Final) based on current group standings. Run Group Stage first for best results.
โšก Full Tournament
Simulate the entire World Cup โ€” all 104 matches โ€” in one shot. Groups + knockouts + champions reveal.
๐Ÿ—‘ Clear Demo Data
Remove all demo-generated results from the isolated demo row. Your real scores and leaderboard are never affected by demo mode.
